CVS is really easy to shop at, when compared to Walgreen's. CVS allows you to use a CVS coupon and a Manufacturer's coupon on each product. Sometimes, they offer Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) for the purchase of certain products. These are printed on the bottom of your receipt. They are to be used in the same way as cash. They expire a month after they are printed. The great thing about ECB's is that you can use them however you'd like. You can use as many as you want to pay for as many or as little products as you'd like. You do forfeit the leftover amount not used if your total is less than the ECB amount, so you'll want to keep that in mind. (Example: I buy $9 worth of merchandise, and I have $10 in ECB. I like to buy a filler item, such as a pack of gum, etc. to make up the difference).
CVS utilizes a store card, called an ExtraCare card, so be sure to sign up for one on your 1st visit. It is with this card, that you get ECB's and sale prices.
Some bonuses from shopping CVS:
- At the end of every Quarter, you'll get 2% of your total purcahses as an ECB on your next visit!
- If you use a Green Bag Tag (Purchase for $.99 at CVS and attach to any reusable tote), you'll get $1 EBC for every fourth time you use your reusable tote! (Give this with your CVS card at the beginning of each transaction).
